In a startling incident over the weekend in Casselberry, Florida, a vehicle veered off course and crashed into a building following a heated road rage altercation. The dramatic scene unfolded along US Highway 17-92, drawing attention to the dangers of aggressive driving.

Witnesses captured the chaotic moment on video, which was later shared with News 6. The footage reveals a mustang losing control and crossing the median near Plumosa Avenue, narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic before crashing into the side of a cabinet store.

Chad Brillis, co-owner of 5 Day Cabinets, provided a firsthand account of the aftermath to News 6. As he guided the news team through the wreckage, he pointed out where the mustang struck a crucial support beam to the right of a window, causing significant damage to the building.

“He hit that main support to the right of the window,” Brillis explained. “We were fortunate it was a Saturday, meaning desks weren’t occupied, and the showroom wasn’t filled with customers. Only one person was present,” he added, recalling his sister’s reaction to the sudden crash.

Brillis also mentioned that his sister had heard the driver yelling just moments before the car burst through the wall, underscoring the volatile nature of road rage incidents and the unexpected perils they can pose to businesses and bystanders alike.

Brillis said his sister was close enough to hear a driver yelling before the car came through the wall.

Casselberry Police said the 24-year-old in the Mustang was angry at another driver, got out of his vehicle and struck the other driver’s car with his hand. He then got back behind the wheel, accelerated too quickly, and lost control, according to police.

On Monday, police told News 6 they cited Aubrey Spencer Hudson with reckless driving. A copy of the citation shows the 24-year-old must appear in court in March.

They also released the 911 calls that flooded into first responders following the crash. Multiple witnesses said it looked like a case of “road rage.”

“I witnessed the whole thing, I mean completely reckless,” said one caller.

Another couple who called 911 told dispatch they didn’t stop because “the guy was in such a rage.”

“Apparently he cut off another vehicle, and it looked like the other driver bumped him,” the caller said. “He was out screaming at the other driver, hopped in his car, took off, spun out.”

Brillis said if the car had taken a path a couple of inches over, it would have driven into the building even further. Instead, it was stopped by a structural pole, which is why the cabinet showroom and offices remain closed at the Casselberry location.

“It knocked this whole wall back 8 inches,” Brillis said as he showed us the damage to the walls and window.

He said because of the business’s proximity to 17-92, they want to see if there is a concrete barrier that can be installed.

“You know, you’re scared of it for so long and then it finally happens,” said Brillis. “Thank god, it was on a weekend because it could have been bad.”
