JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — The Johnson City Police Department has added a unique member to its team, a K-9 officer with a specialized skill set. Named Buck, this 2-year-old English Labrador has been specially trained to detect electronic devices, a task that sets him apart from his fellow canine counterparts. According to a news release from the JCPD, Buck’s training focuses on identifying triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO), a chemical compound commonly found in electronic equipment. This new capability will aid the department in cases involving digital evidence.
