Casey Wasserman’s talent agency is experiencing a significant departure of artists, including Chappell Roan, following revelations of Wasserman’s inclusion in the Epstein files.

The entertainment executive, aged 51, found himself in the spotlight when the Department of Justice released explicit emails he exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell back in 2003. These communications took place years before Epstein’s 2008 conviction and Maxwell’s subsequent conviction in 2022.

Despite Wasserman’s expression of “deep regret” over his past interactions with Maxwell, his apology hasn’t deterred a wave of stars from severing their ties with his agency.

The Daily Mail highlights the artists who have chosen to take a stand by disassociating from the agency.

Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan officially ended her relationship with the agency on February 9.

The Grammy-winner, 27, announced her decision in a story shared to her Instagram in which she said it reflected her belief that ‘meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.’

‘I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well,’ she said.

‘No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict deeply with our own moral values.’

Chelsea Cutler

Singer songwriter Chelsea Cutler cut ties with the Wasserman Agency on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old said in her statement that she ‘cannot in good conscience be a complicit participant and remain silent witnessing these unethical actions.’

‘While I am grateful for my day-to-day team at the agency, it is our responsibility as artists to take any possible opportunity to exercise our personal agency and stand for what we believe in,’ she said.

‘For that reason, as of today, I will no longer be represented by the Wasserman Agency.’

Weyes Blood

Singer Weyes Blood – real name Natalie Mering – announced her departure from the agency in a post shared to her Instagram story.

In her statement, the 37-year-old voiced her respect for her booking agents, who she claimed are unfairly bearing the impact of the situation.

‘As I continue conversations with them about their futures, I want to be unequivocally clear: I will not be remaining at Wasserman,’ she continued.

Weyes Blood concluded her post by stating that Wasserman’s behavior is ‘fundamentally at odds with everything I value.’

The Dropkick Murphys parted ways with the agency on February 6.

The group – fronted by co-lead vocalists Ken Casey and Matt Kelly – announced their departure via their Instagram story.

‘It saddens us to part ways with them, but the namesake of the agency is in the Epstein files, so… we GONE,’ they wrote.

Orville Peck

Canadian-based country music star Orville Peck also joined the exodus.

In his statement, the 38-year-old singer voiced sympathy for the staff at the agency who will no doubt be impacted by the exit of multiple clients.

‘I leave with a huge amount of compassion for the rest of the agents and staff at the agency, who are being left with a situation that impacts all of our work and livelihoods,’ he said.

Hippo Campus

On February 10, rock band Hippo Campus confirmed their exit from Wasserman.

The group – made up of Jake Luppen, Nathan Stocker, Zach Sutton, Whistler Allen and DeCarlo Jackson – said that they ‘stand with all victims of abuse and our band will continue to strive for all spaces that we inhabit to be safe ones.’

Wednesday

Fellow rock band Wednesday announced on February 10 that they have begun the process of ‘extracting ourselves from Wasserman.’

Members Karly Hartzman, MJ Lenderman, Xandy Chelmis, Alan Miller and Ethan Baechtold said in a statement shared on Instagram that being represented by a company led by and named after Wasserman ‘goes against our values.’

They added that they hope he steps down from the company.

After his emails were exposed by the DoJ, Wasserman released a statement.

‘I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,’ he said.

‘I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,’ Wasserman added. ‘As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane.’

‘I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them,’ he concluded.

Wasserman is a major figure in Hollywood, representing music greats such as Coldplay and Ed Sheeran. He also added Billie Eilish to his roster by acquiring the music agency Paradigm in 2021.

VIP guests to his 600-person 50th birthday bash in Santa Monica in June 2024 included former president Bill Clinton, ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff.

Wasserman was less than two years into his marriage to then-wife Laura Ziffren when he swapped highly flirtatious messages with Maxwell, asking her on April 1, 2003: ‘Where are you, I miss you. I will be in NYC for 4 days starting April 22… can we book that massage now?’

Amid a flurry of messages two days later, Maxwell, 64, wrote, ‘all that rubbing – are you sure you can take it?’

‘There are a few spots that apparently drive a man wild – I suppose I could practise them on you and you could let me know if they work or not?’ she added.

While the two were trading the risqué messages, his wife was eight months pregnant with their son.

Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year jail sentence for grooming, trafficking, and abusing minors with Epstein, signed off many of her messages to him with ‘Kisses’, and he with ‘xoxo’, the emails released by the DOJ reveal.

When Wasserman described LA’s often overcast June weather in one 2003 email, Maxwell replied with a raunchy response.

‘What foggy enough so that you can float naked down the beach and no one can see you unless they are close up?’ she wrote in the April 7, 2003 email, adding: ‘Or something like that…’

On April 6, 2003, Maxwell wrote to him: ‘Thought you might like to know I am now in Paris – can I bring you back anything from here?’

He replied: ‘The only thing that i want from paris is you.’ [sic]

The next day, Maxwell was discussing combinations of edible treats she could bring him from her trip to London.

‘Ok, so that combo did not do it for you, what combo would then?’ She asked. ‘You, me, and not else much…’ he replied.

Other emails show Maxwell arranging a trip from Los Angeles to New York on his jet.

The Daily Mail previously obtained an undated photo of a younger Wasserman with Epstein and Maxwell in front of a private plane.

Flight logs from Epstein’s jet show Wasserman and his then-wife flew with Epstein, Clinton, Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker to Africa for an HIV charity event in 2002.

There is no suggestion that Wasserman took part in any of Epstein’s crimes, and the Africa trip happened before the criminal investigation into his sex trafficking began.

The highly flirtatious messages may prove embarrassing for the LA28 chief, who has already had to contend with allegations of repeated romantic affairs with his own staffers that allegedly occurred throughout his marriage.

Eleven sources, including some of his alleged mistresses, provided information to the Daily Mail in 2024 about his alleged womanizing over the years.

Wasserman reportedly ‘love bombed’ potential conquests, showered them with Louboutin shoes, La Perla lingerie, handbags, and even Range Rovers – but when his interest waned, he callously dropped them like a hot potato, sources claimed.

Wasserman dismissed the allegations as gossip.

He was accused of a string of romantic relationships with his employees – including his secretary Patricia Feau, who now works in a $350,000 salary job on the LA28 Olympic nonprofit, his former private jet flight attendant Jenny Chandler, who is his current girlfriend, and another flight attendant whose clients include the Playboy publisher.
