As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its 13th grueling day, tensions have surfaced between local authorities and federal agents, with Pima County investigators and the FBI caught in a jurisdictional tussle. At the center of this drama is a growing reward and an ongoing debate over evidence handling.
Sheriff Chris Nanos has addressed claims of obstructing the FBI’s access to crucial evidence, clarifying that his department has forwarded certain items, such as gloves discovered in Guthrie’s residence, to a specialized lab in Florida instead of the FBI’s facilities. Nanos emphasized that the connection between these gloves and Guthrie’s disappearance remains uncertain.
In a new development, a video circulating on social media shows an unidentified man ringing a doorbell at a home 6.5 miles from Guthrie’s residence at the early hour of 5 a.m. The homeowner was unfamiliar with the visitor. Although the FBI has not linked this individual to the case, they are diligently following up on all leads received.
