Witkoff and Kushner reportedly tell Trump nuclear deal with Iran 'difficult to impossible'

Advisors close to President Trump have reportedly cautioned him about the significant challenges involved in reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran. They described such negotiations as historically “difficult to impossible.”

According to a senior U.S. official, as reported by Israel’s Channel 12 and journalist Barak Ravid on Telegram, Trump inquired about the likelihood of securing a deal with Tehran during discussions with special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The advisors conveyed to the president that historically, the West has struggled to forge a favorable agreement with Iran’s leadership. Nevertheless, they assured Trump of their commitment to maintain a firm stance in ongoing negotiations, Ravid noted.

“Should they meet our demands, we will present the option to you, allowing you to make the final decision,” Witkoff and Kushner reportedly informed Trump.

The United States has been actively seeking to negotiate a deal aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear capabilities and averting a potential conflict. However, initial talks held in Oman this week did not yield a resolution.

Further negotiations, with the participation of Witkoff and Kushner, are scheduled for Tuesday in Geneva, as efforts continue to find common ground.

Trump has vowed to use military force if the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s regime doesn’t iron out an agreement with the US, threatening Thursday that Iran would face a “very traumatic” moment.
