Visiting Bondi for the first time since the tragic incident that claimed the lives of 15 innocent people, Al Ahmed recounted to 60 Minutes the critical moment he chose to intervene.
“I remember everything,” he shared with 60 Minutes. “I was yelling and cursing, just the Aussie way.”
Reflecting on his decision, he said, “I’d give my blood and heart for Australia. I saw what was happening and thought, ‘do it.'”
Al Ahmed also detailed the words he directed at the suspected gunman.
“I shouted, ‘motherf—er!'” Al Ahmed recalled.
During his return to Bondi Beach, the site of the horrific attack, numerous members of the public approached him, expressing their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for his bravery.
