A remarkable mid-century modern residence in Palm Springs, once the abode of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe, has recently hit the real estate market.

This exquisite four-bedroom, four-bathroom home spans 2,978 square feet and is steeped in history. Previously owned by the iconic actress, who tragically passed away in 1962 at the age of 36, the property is now available for $3.3 million.

Known as the Marilyn Monroe Doll House, this architectural gem was constructed in 1961, just a year before Monroe’s untimely demise.

The home’s elegant living room is graced with high, vaulted ceilings, adding to its charm and spacious feel.

Perfect for entertaining, the property boasts several social spaces and features a private pool, making it an ideal setting for gatherings.

Perched on a rare elevated lot, the house offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, enhancing its allure.

It was designed by Charles DuBois and built by the Alexander Company.

It has also been remodeled with respect to preserve the original architectural elements to keep that old mid-century charm.

The neighborhood is also located in a ritzy part of town as it is in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood which is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Palm Springs.

Residents would enjoy privacy with immediate access to hot restaurants, shopping, and art galleries.

The property was listed by David Emerson at Coldwell Banker Realty and is currently owned by founder of M Star Studios Nick Adler.

Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson in Los Angeles in 1926. She spent most of her childhood in a total of twelve foster homes and an orphanage before marrying James Dougherty at age sixteen.

She was working in a factory when she met a photographer from the First Motion Picture Unit.

That led to a successful pin-up modeling career.
