NTSB investigating after 4 killed in fiery Long Beach car crash

Authorities are set to investigate a devastating car accident in Long Beach that resulted in the deaths of four individuals early on Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:18 a.m., police were called to a crash involving a single vehicle at the intersection of East Spring Street and Lakewood Boulevard, according to a report by ABC 7.

Upon arrival, firefighters found four occupants inside a gray sedan, all of whom were declared deceased at the scene.

In response, authorities closed Lakewood Boulevard in both directions between Spring Street and Willow Street, advising motorists to avoid the vicinity.

The cause of the crash remains unclear.

“It is unknown whether speed, distracted driving, or impaired driving were contributing factors,” Long Beach Police told ABC 7.

Late Saturday morning, the National Transportation Safety Board announced that it would be sending a team to investigate the crash.
