Mom Calls 911 on Son Allegedly Wielding Sword—But She’s Arrested as “Most Wanted” Drug Offender

A surprising twist unfolded when a mother, aiming to protect herself, ended up in handcuffs as a top-priority suspect in a drug-related case.

On February 23, 51-year-old Jerneen Nicole Green dialed 911 with urgency, reporting that her 31-year-old son, Zjiavon Deaute Green, wielded a sword and was threatening lives at their home in Stock Island, Florida Keys. This revelation came via a statement from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Jerneen informed the authorities that Zjiavon was intoxicated, destroying belongings, and brandishing a katana-style sword while issuing dire threats.

According to an arrest report, a police officer who reviewed the 911 call noted Zjiavon allegedly warned the dispatcher, “If you come, you will die.” Jerneen’s desperate cries were heard in the background, pleading with him to put down the weapon.

When officers arrived, they described Zjiavon as emotionally erratic and speaking incoherently. He explained the conflict began when he attempted to hug his mother, who resisted his advance.

Zjiavon admitted to the presence of a sword but denied making threats or resorting to physical violence against his mother.

“Due to his apparent intoxication and erratic demeanor,” police wrote in the report, “his responses were inconsistent and not credible.”

Zjiavon was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He is being held at the Monroe County Jail and his arraignment date is scheduled for March 5. A spokesperson from the Monroe County court told Oxygen that Zjiavon has not yet been assigned a public defender.

The incident didn’t end there, though. Because Jerneen was arrested on multiple prior offenses, including trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, along with drug possession, according to the press release. In fact, in the press release, police described her as “one of Monroe County’s most wanted drug offenders.”

In April 2025, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, police searched Jerneen’s residence, read a probable cause report obtained by Oxygen, finding cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA, oxycodone, psychedelic mushrooms and unidentified pills.

Jerneen faces more than 24 charges, according to county jail records reviewed by Oxygen, and her arraignment date is not yet scheduled. A court spokesperson told Oxygen that Jerneen has not yet been assigned a public defender.
