Prepare to be charmed by some irresistibly adorable cubs!
A heartwarming video from Lake Tahoe captures a mother bear snuggling with her trio of cubs beneath a cabin. In the footage, the little ones can be seen climbing over their much larger and patient mom, all while making playful noises.
The video was recorded by the Bear League, a dedicated non-profit focused on ensuring the safety of bears in the region.
In this touching scene, the mother bear has been named Rose, and her playful cubs are called Echo, Oakley, and Storm.
Authorities have informed KTLA that relocating the bear family could pose risks to their safety, so they will remain beneath the cabin until the arrival of spring.
The Bear League advises homeowners to secure crawl spaces under their properties to prevent bears from taking up residence in them.
“You can probably imagine how much damage a family of bears can cause under a home. Thousands of dollars worth,” the Bear League wrote in a Facebook post.
“So once again allow us to say, ‘Secure your crawl spaces before a bear enters.’”
But the BEAR League say the current resident is tolerant of the loud cubs.
“Thankfully, she chose the perfect home, under the cabin of a super sweet young man who is tolerating the constant–and very loud–cub cries, and is helping us protect and keep them all safe,” the BEAR League said in the post.
Black bears are native to Lake Tahoe. There are an estimated 500 black bears in the Lake Tahoe Basin, Carson Now reported. The California Department of Fish & Wildlife estimates 49,000 to 71,000 black bears live in the state.
