In a startling incident in Texas, a woman reportedly stabbed her boyfriend amid a heated dispute over a cellphone. Authorities in the state have taken her into custody. The unfolding drama took place in Waco, where Terriana Johnson now faces charges of aggravated assault, according to jail records accessed by Law&Crime. She was detained at the McLennan County Jail on Thursday.
The confrontation occurred on Wednesday at a residence in the 1900 block of South 5th Street. Johnson, whose age remains unspecified, was with her boyfriend—whom she has been dating for approximately a year—when the conflict erupted. According to an arrest affidavit, as reviewed by CBS affiliate KWTX-TV, Johnson interrupted her boyfriend while he was in the shower, reportedly yelling at him.
After stepping out of the shower, the boyfriend allegedly witnessed Johnson emerging from the kitchen armed with three knives. She purportedly threatened him, stating, “I’m going to cut you if you don’t give me your f— phone.”
In a bid to defend himself, the boyfriend grabbed bed sheets, but Johnson allegedly managed to injure him with one of the knives. In a desperate attempt to escape further harm, he fled to a neighbor’s house, prompting the arrival of law enforcement at the scene of the altercation.
Upon their arrival, officers engaged with Johnson, who claimed that her boyfriend had taken her phone and pushed her to the ground. However, police noted that she did not appear to have any visible injuries.
The officer arrived and spoke to Johnson, who reportedly said her boyfriend had taken her phone and pushed her to the ground. Police said she had no visible injuries.
The boyfriend — after being contacted by the officer — said his girlfriend had stabbed him with a knife.
When the boyfriend spoke with law enforcement in person, he had a cut on his left arm, police said. When officers asked Johnson about the injury, she allegedly said she did not know what happened.
Johnson said she had scissors in her hand during their fight, and when an officer asked her why, she said they were “to cut the sheets,” KWTX reported.
After being arrested and booked into jail, Johnson was placed under a $10,000 bond, jail records show.
