Truth about Pink's VERY unconventional marriage to Carey Hart

Last week, news broke that pop sensation Pink and her husband of two decades, Carey Hart, were reportedly on the brink of divorce, leaving fans disheartened over the potential end of another long-standing celebrity union.

However, Pink soon took to Instagram to dismiss the divorce rumors in a rather unconventional video, where she surprisingly urged viewers to shift their focus to the “Epstein files.”

Whether together or apart, this incident marks the latest chapter in the couple’s rollercoaster journey since tying the knot in 2006, a relationship that has had its fair share of ups and downs.

Notably, Pink and Hart, who are parents to 14-year-old Willow Sage and 9-year-old Jameson Moon, initially decided to separate in 2008, just under two years after their wedding. Yet, they managed to reconcile and called off their divorce plans a year later.

Insiders describe their marriage as having a “unique” and occasionally “confusing” dynamic that has shaped their relationship over the years.

On Thursday, People magazine reported that the 46-year-old singer and the 50-year-old motocross star had parted ways once more.

Moments later, Pink – née Alecia Beth Moore – took to Instagram to deny the split speculation.

‘On my way to a beer, I was just alerted to the fact I have split from my husband,’ she sarcastically blasted.

‘Thank you for letting me know. Would you also like to tell my children? My 14 year old and nine year old are also unaware. Or do you want to talk about some real news?

‘Do you want to talk about the Epstein files, do you want to talk about systemic racism, or misogyny in sports?

‘Do you want to talk about my accomplishments or only my supposed demise? So, fake news, not true. I love you all. Go with God.’

It now seems likely that the divorce rumors were sparked after Pink’s failure to publicly acknowledge her wedding anniversary in January – a silence that came in stark contrast to a heartfelt tribute posted to social media last year.

Pink and Hart have also not been seen out together since September, when they stepped out in New York City. At the time, it appeared that the couple were not wearing their wedding rings.

But according to a source, it is not unusual for the couple to be either on the brink of divorce or happier than ever in their relationship.

‘They are always on the cusp of breaking up or head over heels in love. They fight for their relationship because they are soulmates,’ the source told the Daily Mail, while also suggesting that ‘close friends’ of the couple have not seen them together ‘in a while and assumed they had split.’

‘They are together, but who knows for how long?’ the source continued. ‘They are stubborn and want their own way. For 20 years, it has been the same thing. It’s what makes them tick.

‘No one would be surprised if they break up tomorrow and continue the cycle. They are a very unique couple, and most definitely a surprise a minute.’

Pink has previously shed insight into her 20-year marriage with Hart, even crediting therapy for making their long-lasting union work.

They first crossed paths at the Summer X Games in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2001, where motocross racer Hart competed and was ultimately hospitalized after falling 35 feet during a mid-air flip. He broke three ribs and his tailbone, and shattered his right foot.

Still, the pair began dating shortly after.

Their first breakup, which occurred two years later in 2003, appeared to inspire Pink’s track Love Song off her 2003 album, Try This, in which she sings about her fears of falling in love.

They rekindled their romance just one year later and, in 2005, Pink was the one to pop the question to her boyfriend at a motocross tournament where he was competing.

While on the track, the singer famously held up a sign that read, ‘Will you marry me? I’m serious!’

Hart promptly pulled over and accepted her proposal.

They were married in Costa Rica in 2006, but announced their separation in 2008. At the time, Pink shared with fans on her website that the ‘breakup is not about cheating, anger or fighting.’

‘I know it sounds like cliché bulls***, but we are best friends, and we will continue to be,’ she wrote.

During their short-lived separation, Pink skyrocketed in the charts with anthems like So What and Please Don’t Leave Me, both of which were featured on her 2008 album, Funhouse.

Things then took a tragic turn for the estranged couple when Hart’s 21-year-old brother, Anthony Hart, died of a traumatic head injury after crashing during a practice run for a motorcycle race.

Pink reportedly rushed to Hart’s side, and by 2009 it was announced that the couple were working on their relationship.

Following this week’s reports, the motocross star’s estranged father, Tom Hart, 73, weighed in onthe ‘divorce’ rumors.

‘They made it 20 years – better than most, I guess. I haven’t talked to Carey in 18 years… ever since my other son passed away,’ he told the Daily Mail.

‘That was his choice [to be estranged]. I tried that and it didn’t work out so we’ll leave it at that,’ he added, emphasizing that Pink was ‘not at all’ the reason he and his son are estranged.

By 2010, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together and welcomed daughter Willow in June the following year.

In 2016, Pink revealed she was pregnant again with a photo of her baby bump posted to Instagram. Their son, Jameson Moon Hart, was born in December that year.

Despite expanding their family, Pink and Hart still experienced several rocky moments during their marriage.

During a particularly heated Thanksgiving weekend in 2018, the Raise Your Glass singer got so mad at her husband that she slashed his tires, and injured herself in the process.

She revealed the moment while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February 2019, telling the host that she only managed to slash one tire before injuring her hand and needed 13 stitches.

‘I got clean through the first one. He has a raised F250 and those tires are thick, thank you very much,’ Pink said at the time. ‘And the second one I lost a little steam and I hit the metal part and my hand just went straight down the knife.’

‘It was Thanksgiving. The holidays are stressful,’ she added.

The singer also didn’t shy away from sharing details about their relationship struggles on Instagram.

In one candid Valentine’s Day tribute from 2019, Pink posted a selfie with her husband and mentioned wanting to ‘rip [her] hair out’ over her ‘stubborn’ partner in the caption.

‘Happy f***ing Valentine’s Day and also if there isn’t some stubborn person in your life making you want to rip your hair out ON the daily THAT’S OK TAKE YOUR OWN DAMN SELF OUT and buy your own damn chocolates and not the gross kind,’ she wrote.

It wasn’t until a 2020 Instagram livestream with her therapist, Vanessa Inn, that Pink credited therapy as the reason she and Hart are still together.

‘It’s the only reason that we’re still together because you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak – I can’t say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing – that you just speak two different languages,’ she said, adding that they both do couples’ therapy and individual therapy.

Just one day after debunking reports of their divorce, Pink made a special appearance on NBC’s The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she will be serving as guest host for an entire week of episodes beginning March 2 in honor of Women’s History Month.

Meanwhile, host Kelly Clarkson, 42, will be absent from the week of episodes following confirmation earlier this month that she is stepping down from her eponymous daytime talk show.

The source explained to the Daily Mail that Pink’s upcoming hosting stint will serve as a practice run for the singer when Clarkson leaves the show this fall.

‘If all goes well and the ratings are great, it will be her job,’ the source said. ‘She wants it, NBC Universal wants it, all that counts now is if the audience wants it.’

They also suggested that the recent speculation into Pink’s marriage was ‘perfect timing’ for the singer, because it offers her a platform ‘to be as real and transparent’ as Clarkson has been with her audience over the last seven seasons.

‘Pink is such an open book and will be perfect for the role, but the proof will be if she can bring in the audience and keep the audience,’ they continued.

‘The talk about her relationship issues was perfect timing, as hurtful as that can be. Everyone is waiting for her to talk about it on the show. Everyone wants her to be as real and transparent as Kelly is. She could turn the relationship drama into ratings gold.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Pink and NBC Universal for comment.
