In Virginia, a mosque is facing backlash after allegedly honoring the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a controversial tribute. The Manassas Mosque, located in Prince William County, reportedly referred to Khamenei as “our leader” and lamented his “martyrdom” in an Instagram post that has since been removed.
The Instagram post, which was highlighted by The Daily Wire, emerged shortly after Khamenei’s death, which occurred as a result of an Israeli airstrike this past Saturday. The post included an image of Khamenei, alongside an invitation for a mourning ceremony to be held at the mosque on Sunday.

In related developments, the situation between the US and Israel with Iran continues to escalate, as discussed in the “Letters to the Editor” section from March 3, 2026. Meanwhile, Democratic lawmakers are voicing concerns over prediction markets, where alleged insiders have profited $1.2 million from the Iran attacks, questioning the legality of such practices and labeling them as “insane.”

The Manassas Mosque had recently come under fire after reporters attended a sermon on the day before Khamenei was killed, which featured a framed photo of the Islamist embracing Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, both terrorists who were killed by Israeli strikes, Fox News reported.
