Courtney Love and Melissa Auf der Maur are hinting that their grunge band Hole is going to reunite.
Auf der Maur posted several short clips featuring Hole songs playing while she strikes a series of poses.
Love posted those videos to her Instagram account and wrote: “So do we tell the kids about the tour?”
Melissa Auf der Maur recently sparked excitement among Hole fans with a tantalizing statement: “It starts with eternal love.” This has sent enthusiasts into a frenzy, eagerly suggesting potential cities for a long-awaited tour kickoff.
Hole, the iconic band that dominated the music scene between 1989 and their split in 2002, is renowned for anthems like “Doll Parts,” “Miss World,” and “Malibu.” Throughout its history, the group saw various lineups, although Courtney Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson were steadfast presences. Auf der Maur joined the band in 1994, contributing her talents for about five years. Drummer Patty Schemel also played a significant role during their heyday.
In 2009, Love breathed new life into Hole, briefly reuniting with Auf der Maur in 2012. Despite the fans’ hopes, the band has largely remained inactive since then. Love, now 61, hinted in a 2019 interview with The Guardian that a reunion was a topic of discussion, but nothing materialized.
Interestingly, Erlandson fueled speculation of a possible reunion by sharing a photo with Love and Auf der Maur, though he cryptically placed an “X” over his own face, leaving fans puzzled about his involvement.
As of now, Love and Auf der Maur have yet to reveal any concrete plans regarding the timing or locations for a potential 2025 tour, keeping fans on the edge of their seats with anticipation.
“Never let the truth get in the way of a good story,” he captioned that photo. “X marks the spot.”
Love and Auf der Maur gave no indication of when and where a 2025 tour might happen.
