NEW YORK – In a surprising move, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has halted all JetBlue flights following a request from the airline itself, the agency confirmed on Tuesday.

This ground stop affects every JetBlue flight headed to various destinations, as stated in the FAA’s advisory. The reason behind JetBlue’s request remains unclear, as does the duration of this suspension.

Both JetBlue and the FAA have yet to provide additional details, not responding to inquiries from The Associated Press at the time of reporting.

JetBlue, a major player in the aviation industry for over 25 years, is headquartered in New York City. Its main terminal is situated at John F. Kennedy International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the United States.

The airline, which was founded more than 25 years ago, has its headquarters in New York City and its flagship terminal at the city’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
