A heartbroken mother is speaking out after the tragic loss of her 12-year-old daughter, Jada West, who passed away following a violent altercation with another student. The incident unfolded just after the school bus had dropped them off near their home in Villa Rica, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

Jada’s mother, Rashunda McClendon, was alerted by one of her daughter’s friends, who ran to find her after Jada collapsed on the street. Rushing to the scene, Rashunda found her daughter lying motionless, recalling the devastating moment with deep emotion. “I got in the car and drove up there, and she was on the ground. She wasn’t breathing,” she shared with WSB-TV, visibly shaken by the memory.

Disturbing cellphone footage captured the altercation, showing Jada, who had recently transferred to Mason Creek Middle School, engaged in a fight with another girl. The video shows Jada hitting the ground hard, resulting in her losing consciousness at one point. According to Rashunda, Jada had been subjected to bullying since her transfer, and she expressed frustration over the lack of intervention during the incident. “Nobody tried to stop it. No one tried to call the police and stop it,” she lamented.

After the fight, Jada was rushed to Tanner Medical Center, where she suffered seizures and cardiac heart failure. Tragically, she passed away on Saturday, leaving her family and friends to grapple with the sudden and senseless loss.

“Nobody tried to stop it. No one tried to call the police and stop it,” Rashunda said of her daughter, who she claims had been bullied.

Jada was taken to Tanner Medical Center, where she experienced seizures, suffered from cardiac heart failure, and died on Saturday.

Her family says it wants justice.

“It’s not right that this little girl and the other kids get to go to school. My niece is not here anymore. My niece was in the hospital with a tube in her throat,” Jada’s aunt, Dequala McClendon, told WSB-TV.

No one has been charged in connection with Jada’s death.

“At this time, we are working in conjunction with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office on the investigation,” a spokesperson for the Villa Rica Police Department told The Post.

“No charges have as yet been filed on the case due to the ongoing nature of the investigation,” the spokesperson added.

The Douglas County School System said in a statement Monday that it is leaving the investigation to the police.

“This incident did not occur on school property or during school hours, and there is nothing to indicate that this is related to any on-campus activity. Therefore, this matter is under the jurisdiction of the Villa Rica Police Department,” the statement read.

Counselors were made available for students and staff on Tuesday.
