The University of Florida’s College Republicans chapter has been dissolved by the Florida Federation of College Republicans following allegations of misconduct, including antisemitism, the university announced on Saturday.

This decision came after the federation conducted an internal investigation that revealed a “pattern of conduct” breaching its standards, highlighted by a recent antisemitic incident, according to a statement shared by the university on X.

The federation has requested that the university “deactivate” the chapter temporarily as efforts are made to rebuild it with new leadership, the university reported.

In its announcement, the university emphasized its dedication to combating antisemitism and other discriminatory behavior that could harm the school community. It also expressed readiness to assist in restarting the chapter once it has been appropriately restructured.

Efforts to reach the Florida Federation of College Republicans for comment have so far been unsuccessful.

This development is the second instance in recent weeks involving reports of antisemitic conduct by a conservative group at a Florida educational institution.

Florida International University said on March 5 that law enforcement is investigating a Miami Herald report that prominent members of the local Republican Party and conservative student leaders exchanged racist, antisemitic ‌and homophobic messages in an online group chat.

The Herald reported that logs of the leaked WhatsApp group chat showed participants, including prominent local Republican Party officials and student leaders of FIU’s Turning Point USA chapter, a conservative youth group founded by slain activist Charlie Kirk.
