Two individuals have been formally charged following a fatal shooting that occurred in Sydney’s western suburbs yesterday.
Abdullah Bahsa, aged 38, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen at a residential complex on Shale Street in Lidcombe shortly after 4 a.m. yesterday morning. He succumbed to his injuries soon after being transported to the hospital.
A companion who was with Bahsa at the time was allegedly attacked, though he sustained only minor injuries that were not life-threatening.
Later that same day, emergency services responded to a report of a car collision involving a stationary vehicle on Boronia Street in Ermington.
Upon arrival at the scene around 1:30 p.m., police discovered a firearm inside the vehicle and subsequently detained the driver.
The 21-year-old man was then taken into custody at Gladesville Police Station, where he faces charges of murder and intentionally wounding a person with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Hours later, Auburn detectives and the SCC Homicide Squad executed a crime scene warrant at a home on Spurway Street in Ermington and arrested a 22-year-old man.
He was taken to Gladesville Police Station where he was also charged with murder.
Both men have been refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today.
