Orange County schools employee accused of molesting a child

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An employee affiliated with the Orange County Public Schools is facing serious allegations of child molestation, as indicated by jail documents accessed by News 6.

The records reveal that the individual, named Rogelio Santos, Jr., aged 57, was taken into custody on Thursday by law enforcement officials from the Apopka Police Department.

In response to inquiries from News 6, the school district provided further clarification on the matter.

“Mr. Santos has been arrested on charges not connected to his duties at the school,” stated Michael Ollendorff, the Media Relations Administrator for OCPS. “He is currently on administrative leave while the Office of Professional Standards conducts an investigation into the claims.”

Specific details surrounding Santos’ arrest remain limited, but the jail records indicate he is charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation involving a victim under the age of 12. He is being held without the possibility of bail.
