In a recent statement, President Trump revealed that he had instructed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cease any further attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure. Speaking from the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump asserted, “I told him, ‘Don’t do that.’ And he won’t do that.”

The announcement came in the wake of Israel’s assault on Iran’s South Pars natural gas field. This aggressive action prompted a swift response from Tehran, which launched retaliatory strikes on various energy sites throughout the Middle East. Among the targets was Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City, renowned as the largest liquefied natural gas facility in the world.

Discussing his relationship with Netanyahu, President Trump remarked, “On occasion, he’ll do something, and if I don’t like it … we’re not doing that anymore.” This statement underscores the dynamic and sometimes contentious nature of the diplomatic ties between the two leaders.

“On occasion, he’ll do something,” the US president said of Netanyahu, “and if I don’t like it … we’re not doing that anymore.”
