The President of the United States issued a stark warning to Iran, demanding the reopening of a vital maritime passage within 48 hours. This announcement was made public on Truth Social at precisely 10:44 am AEDT.

In his message, he stated, “Should Iran fail to COMPLETELY REOPEN, WITHOUT ANY THREATS, the Strait of Hormuz within the given 48-hour timeframe, the United States will commence an attack on their power infrastructure, prioritizing the largest facility first.”

During a press briefing on Friday, the president expressed his surprise at Australia’s reluctance to participate, noting, “I expected more since we always respond affirmatively to their requests.”

However, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese clarified that the US had not formally requested Australia’s assistance.

At a Melbourne press conference, Albanese remarked, “We have fulfilled all requests made of us.” He elaborated that Australia had agreed to the UAE’s request to deploy an E-7 Wedgetail aircraft equipped with personnel, and had also provided AMRAAM interceptor missiles.

The truth is that we have said yes to the request [from] the UAE for the E-7 Wedgetail aircraft that is operating there with personnel operating as well. In addition to that, we’ve sent AMRAAM [interceptor missiles].

“That’s making a difference as well, to intercept missiles or drones aimed at the UAE. So we continue to provide the support that we have been asked to provide.”
