Suspected arson attack on ambulances in London was 'antisemitic': police

The police are classifying a suspected arson attack on ambulances in north London as an antisemitic hate crime.

According to the BBC, four ambulances belonging to Hatzolah were set ablaze at approximately 1:45 am local time in the Golders Green area, as reported by the Metropolitan Police.

The authorities have confirmed that they are treating this incident as a hate crime aimed at the Jewish community, based on information provided to the BBC.

Hatzolah, a non-profit organization, offers emergency medical services and transportation specifically for Jewish individuals.

Superintendent Sarah Jackson expressed concerns over the potential impact on the community, telling the BBC, “We know this incident will cause a great deal of community concern and officers remain on scene to carry out urgent enquiries.”

She added that they are actively reviewing CCTV footage and have acknowledged the existence of related online videos.

“We believe we are looking for three suspects at this early stage.”

There were no reports of injuries, according to Associated Press.

There have been no arrests yet.
