Efforts are underway by Lake Station police, in collaboration with other local agencies, to locate the male occupant of the vehicle.

Footage from Chopper 7 captured the aftermath, showing a black pickup truck overturned and partially submerged in the river’s waters.

Assistance in the search operations is being provided by Hobart fire officials, who have deployed both dive and drone teams to aid in the investigation.

Details regarding the circumstances leading to the crash or the potential injuries involved remain unclear at this time.

“This was a large, coordinated effort involving multiple agencies working together under challenging conditions. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all departments and personnel who assisted in this response. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families affected by this incident,” Hobart fire officials said.

Lake Station police said just before 7 p.m. that the search remains active.
