LIVE: Iran claims energy sites hit as Trump's pause on strikes

Iran media says energy infrastructure attacked as Trump declares pause on military strikes

Reports from Iranian media today reveal that Israeli-US strikes have hit two gas facilities and a pipeline, mere hours after US President Donald Trump retracted his earlier threat to attack Iran’s power infrastructure.

The Fars news agency stated, “In a continuation of assaults by Zionist and American forces, the gas administration building and the gas pressure regulation station on Kaveh Street in Isfahan were targeted.”

According to Fars, these central Iranian facilities sustained some damage, making it the sole Iranian outlet to broadcast details of the incident.

The report also mentioned an attack on the gas pipeline of the Khorramshahr power plant, located in the southwest of the country, though it provided no details on the extent of the damage.

On Monday, President Trump remarked that “things are going very well” with Iran, following the announcement of discussions with Tehran along with a five-day halt on targeting the nation’s power plants.

This unexpected change in Trump’s stance occurred just hours before the conclusion of a two-day ultimatum in which he had warned of attacks on Iranian power plants unless Tehran reopened the vital Strait of Hormuz.
