Purchasing a pre-owned car often comes with the anxiety of potential unreliability, which can lead to unexpected expenses and stress.

However, for those in the market for a used vehicle, there’s now a clearer picture of which models are more dependable, according to a new list identifying the top 10 most reliable cars aged between three and 15 years.

Warrantywise, a company specializing in extended warranties for used cars with over two decades of expertise, has unveiled its latest reliability index. Notably, a Japanese automaker’s models have earned impressive scores.

The index is based on an analysis of 1.6 million repair data points, assigning a reliability score to each make and model, rated on a scale of up to 100. This provides valuable insights for UK consumers seeking reliable vehicles.

While the index highlights potential reliability risks, it doesn’t categorically define any vehicle as the ‘most’ or ‘least’ reliable. It’s important to remember that no car is completely free from issues, and repairs are just one facet of vehicle ownership.

In an exclusive reveal, This is Money shares the top 10 models that excel in long-term reliability, crucial information for those considering a used car purchase. Leading the pack is a well-known compact car that has claimed the top spot. Here are the findings.
