Iranian influencer behind viral 'Trump dance' loses cousin as war continues

Mooné Rahimi, an Iranian-American influencer who gained internet fame for her “Trump dance” video celebrating U.S. military actions in Tehran, has shared a personal tragedy involving her family. Rahimi revealed that her cousin has been killed, a victim of the ongoing conflict between Iran and the coalition of the United States and Israel.

Rahimi, who identifies as an “Iranian baddie” and an ardent supporter of former President Trump’s MAGA movement, expressed her grief and frustration on social media. She lamented that despite relocating to the United States in search of happiness, she remains burdened by the chaos engulfing her homeland. “I thought I would finally be happy if I moved to a great country like the USA, but it didn’t happen because I’m watching my hometown getting ruined and my sisters and brothers getting murdered by the Islamic regime,” she shared on X.

Drawing attention to the plight of civilians caught in the crossfire, Rahimi criticized global indifference to the crisis. “The whole world ignores the fact that thousands of innocent civilians — including kids, orphans, and pregnant women — are dying just so the IRGC ideology survives,” she stated, urging for more awareness and action.

The influencer called out a report claiming she said her cousin died in the war.

“I always emphasize that this is not a war; this is a rescue mission,” she noted on X. “The reason I lost my cousin is only and only the Islamic regime and no one else.”

Rahimi entered the public spotlight after garnering more than 4.2 million views as she celebrated the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the start of the war in Iran.

“I’m beyond grateful for the freedom here, the dream so many Iranians are fighting for,” she said while studying a PhD in engineering in the US.

“Thank you, America, for your love and support. Thank you, President Trump,” she added.

Rahimi did not state exactly how her cousin died as the US and Israel continue their bombing campaign across Iran, targeting facilities linked to the Islamic regime.

She maintains that his death is solely on the hands of the regime as she defended America’s bombardment campaign as a “rescue mission.”

The influencer did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Since the war began on Feb 28, the fighting has killed at least 1,443 Iranian civilians, including 217 children, according to the nonprofit Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRANA).

Many Iranians support the war effort as a means to overthrow the Islamic regime that orchestrated a bloody crackdown against protesters in January that resulted in more than 7,000 deaths, according to activists and human rights groups.
