In a significant gathering at the US State Department, First Lady Melania Trump hosted an assembly of international first ladies to address the Fostering the Future Together Global Summit. This event built upon a vision Trump initially shared during the 80th United Nations General Assembly. Notable attendees included Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Sarah Netanyahu, spouse of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Additionally, first ladies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Romania, and Burundi participated. The summit commenced with several of these dignitaries delivering brief speeches on the potential of AI advancements and their countries’ aspirations to harness this technology.
Olena Zelenska eloquently remarked on the current global instability, stating, “Today, the world is becoming increasingly unstable, and in these conditions, every country is searching for the answer to a question.” She emphasized the crucial role digital systems play in maintaining Ukraine’s functionality amid ongoing conflict. The summit, described by Melania Trump as a convergence of “extraordinary human capital,” included representatives from leading tech companies and AI innovators. Among the participating organizations were OpenAI, Microsoft, xAI, Meta, Palantir, Adobe, Google, and Zoom Communications.
The two-day event united international leaders and technological pioneers under the shared mission of empowering the next generation in technology and education. With representatives from nations as diverse as Albania, Bolivia, Ukraine, and the UAE, Melania Trump underscored the strength of global collaboration. She stressed that as individuals dream and leaders advance, nations collectively progress forward, highlighting the power of unity in achieving technological and educational advancements.
Urging the assembled leaders to take immediate action, she stated, ‘Let’s accelerate our new global alliance, this bond to positively impact the progress of our children.’ A central theme of her address was the critical role of corporate partnership in driving educational advancement. She noted that ‘Magic happens in our nation’s capital, particularly when the private and public sectors joint forces.’ ‘Never before have so many tech visionaries stood before such a large global audience of leaders in the State Department and the White House over the two–day period,’ she remarked.
Calling the meeting ‘unprecedented,’ she commended America’s leading companies for their participation. First Lady Trump issued a clear directive to the global leaders in attendance: ‘Leaders harness it to elevate your children, to empower your people and to accelerate your economies.’ She stressed that the global coalition will only improve the future ‘by supporting concrete initiatives that equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need.’ Closing her remarks and wishing the attendees success , she asked the audience to collaborate, saying, ‘Together, let’s invest expand success and create opportunities for education and technology.’
