In a startling case from Michigan, two women have been formally charged with allegedly peddling drugs from the daycare where they were employed.
According to Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, authorities discovered three ounces of cocaine and two firearms at Fun N Some Daycare, a residential childcare facility in Flint. The arrest followed a controlled drug purchase at the site, leading to the apprehension of the daycare’s owner, Tatiana Jones, 38, and an employee, Latoriya Brown, 34. Sheriff Swanson assured the public that no children were present at the daycare during the illegal activities.
“They intended to operate a legitimate daycare,” Swanson explained to WKRC. “Their plan was to open a daycare where children would attend, but instead, they would conduct drug transactions there. We intervened before this could happen.”
Records show that while the daycare received its state license last year through the Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential, the license was revoked in October.
Both Jones and Brown face charges for cocaine distribution or manufacturing, along with additional firearms-related charges. As reported by WJBK, Brown is noted to be a felon and a habitual offender.
