Good morning, Angels! The iconic trio from “Charlie’s Angels”—Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Jaclyn Smith—reunited to mark a significant milestone in television history. The actresses gathered at PaleyFest 2026 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their beloved show.

Speaking with On The Red Carpet prior to the event, Ladd expressed her emotions, stating, “This is a little overwhelming. I know there’s a huge group of people who’ve loved ‘Charlie’s Angels’ and that’s gonna feel very good.”

The series, which captivated audiences from 1976 to 1981 on ABC, originally featured Jackson, Smith, and the late Farrah Fawcett portraying the roles of Sabrina Duncan, Kelly Garrett, and Jill Munroe, respectively. These characters, private investigators working for an unseen boss named Charlie, tackled various assignments throughout the show’s run. Ladd joined in the second season, stepping into the role of Kris Munroe, Jill’s sister.

The event at PaleyFest provided fans with a rare opportunity to hear directly from Jackson, Ladd, and Smith in a lively discussion moderated by George Pennacchio from On The Red Carpet.

Adding a touch of humor to the evening, Pennacchio prompted the actresses to address a longstanding rumor, much to the delight of the audience.

In one particularly funny moment, Pennacchio asked the ladies to confirm a rumor.

“Is it true that in the early days of the show, Farrah’s hair was called the fourth Angel?,” Pennacchio asked.

Smith smiled as she replied, “It should have been if it wasn’t because it had a life of its own!”

The show was groundbreaking, as audiences at that time hadn’t seen an action series led by women before. It’s a distinction Jackson is keenly aware of to this day.

“You could sit back, put your feet up and forget your troubles for an hour. And at the same time, you could learn without knowing you were learning that women could do anything. Anything a man could do a woman could do and at at time, in the early and mid to late ’70s in Hollywood when you’re trying to break the glass ceiling, having three women star in a top network television show was really quite an accomplishment,” Jackson said.

Pennacchio will have more from the event this week in his On The Red Carpet report.

The PaleyFest conversation will be on PaleyFest’s YouTube channel next week.
