In Archer, Florida, a young man named Tyler Malik Bryant, aged 20, from Ft. White, found himself in trouble with the law after a high-speed chase ended in a collision with a patrol vehicle. The incident, which unfolded late last night, began when Bryant allegedly attempted to escape from law enforcement while riding a four-wheeler.

The scene was set around 8:51 p.m. on April 5, when deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office were keeping a close eye on a block party on SW Archer Road. These gatherings have gained a reputation for unruly behavior, often involving gunfire, brawls, and reckless driving, according to the deputies monitoring the area.

It wasn’t long before the chaos unfolded. A four-wheeler emerged onto SW Archer Road, executing a dramatic donut maneuver before making a swift U-turn and heading back north on SW 174th Street. Witnesses reported the vehicle racing through the neighborhood, disregarding stop signs and exhibiting dangerous driving.

When the four-wheeler ran a stop sign at the intersection of SW 174th Street and SW Archer Road, a deputy took notice and began to pursue the vehicle. As the four-wheeler approached, the deputy activated his patrol car’s lights, signaling for the driver to stop. Briefly, Bryant complied, allowing the deputy to approach and engage him in conversation. However, despite a warning not to flee, Bryant flashed a smile and sped off once more.

With the situation escalating, additional deputies joined the pursuit. One deputy managed to spot the elusive four-wheeler and attempted to catch up. However, in a dramatic turn of events, Bryant’s vehicle executed another donut before crashing into a second patrol car, ultimately bringing the chase to an end. Bryant was promptly taken into custody, concluding a night of reckless escapades.

Other deputies responded to look for the four-wheeler, and a second deputy saw the four-wheeler and tried to catch up to it, but the four-wheeler reportedly changed directions after spinning a donut in the roadway and crashed into the second deputy’s patrol vehicle, where he was taken into custody.

Bryant has been charged with fleeing from law enforcement with lights activated. He has no criminal convictions, but there is a pending sworn complaint from when he was a juvenile, charging him with possession of tobacco products by a minor. Judge Meshon Rawls ordered him released on his own recognizance.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
