An ex-Airbnb host found himself in legal trouble following accusations of indecent exposure outside a residence, where he reportedly engaged in a lewd act involving a vacuum cleaner.
Kevin Dale Westerhold faces charges of public indecency, as stated in a press release from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department in Florida. According to court documents, he has entered a plea of not guilty and secured his release from custody after posting a $2,500 bond.
The incident occurred on January 22nd when law enforcement responded to a call at Windsor Hills Resort in Kissimmee regarding a man allegedly indecently exposed outdoors. Witnesses provided officers with cellphone footage showing a man partly undressed and engaging in improper behavior, the press release noted.
Moreover, authorities reviewed a previous complaint from the day before, which involved a naked individual in a communal hallway of the gated community. A resident had shared Ring camera footage to support the claim.
Officials revealed that Westerhold managed several Airbnb listings at the resort. Following these allegations, Airbnb has removed him from its platform, according to a spokesperson who spoke with Oxygen.
In a more detailed account from an arrest warrant obtained by Oxygen, a resident reported seeing a man, purportedly unclothed from the waist down, outside a home. The individual allegedly approached the front door and began an inappropriate act with a vacuum, continuing from the driveway to the home’s entrance, as stated in the warrant.
Later, after bringing the vacuum inside, the man allegedly reemerged with a bottle of liquor and was “visibly stumbling as if he was intoxicated,” before driving away, she said in the warrant.
Another resident told police she was aware of “issues” involving a neighbor being naked in a shared hallway, per the warrant, and provided videos and photos of the alleged incidents.
When police contacted Westerhold, he allegedly said he had been in Kissimmee working at an Airbnb, read the warrant.
An attorney for Westerhold did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Oxygen. A spokesperson for Windsor Hill could not be reached.
Westerhold’s next court date is April 14.
