Urgent Manhunt Underway: Suspect Sought in Downtown LA Bus Stabbing Incident

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in broad daylight, a man armed with a knife attacked a woman on a bus in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday morning, according to police reports. The unsettling event occurred as the city was just beginning to stir.

The attack took place at approximately 6:55 a.m. on an LA Metro bus traveling near the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Grand Avenue, as detailed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Following the assault, the victim, who was able to walk to the paramedics, was swiftly taken to a hospital for medical attention. Her identity has not been disclosed, but eyewitnesses saw her receiving care at the scene.

The suspect, who managed to escape the scene and evade capture as of late Saturday morning, is described as a Black man in his 20s or 30s. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and a black cap, according to the police.

While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, a bus driver shared with OnScene.TV that the suspect had pushed the woman before stabbing her in the abdomen. The driver expressed confusion over the suspect’s actions, noting, “I don’t know why he did that. He looked like a normal person.”

“I don’t know why he did that. He looked like a normal person,” the driver said.

Video showed the victim being loaded into an ambulance before it drove away with sirens blaring.

The frightening attack happened on the 76 line, which provides service between the El Monte Station and Downtown LA-Grand/Venice via Little Tokyo.

It occurred just a few blocks from the GRAMMY Museum and Crypto.com Arena.
