A wildfire has erupted in Scott County, Virginia, specifically in the Hiltons area close to the Virginia-Tennessee border, as of Sunday evening. Emergency response teams, including the Virginia Department of Forestry and the Hiltons Volunteer Fire Department, are actively engaged in efforts to contain the blaze, according to Jeff Brickey, the Director of Scott County’s Emergency Management Agency.
