Currently, he serves as the Executive Chef at Harbour View House in the picturesque town of St Ives, Cornwall. Robinson’s culinary brilliance was first recognized when he became one of the pioneering chefs in the UK to earn a coveted Green Michelin Star during his tenure at The New Yard on the Lizard Peninsula. His innovative approach to gastronomy didn’t go unnoticed, as he also garnered three rosettes and numerous accolades celebrating his creativity and commitment to sustainable practices.
His journey in the culinary world began in the vibrant restaurant scene of St Ives. His quest for gastronomic excellence led him to work in cities like Bath, Bristol, and London. Eventually, he returned to Cornwall to helm The New Yard Restaurant and Pantry alongside his wife, Caroline, nestled in the rural beauty of the Lizard Peninsula in southwest Cornwall.
In 2023, Robinson embarked on a new culinary venture with Harbour House, situated on the waterfront of Flushing, a historic village on the South Cornish coast. This establishment is dedicated to spotlighting local produce through exquisite pub snacks and small plates that celebrate the rich offerings from nearby rivers, seas, fields, and gardens.
Beyond his restaurant endeavors, Robinson also imparts his knowledge through the St Ives Cookery School, which he operates at Primrose House, its sister hotel. Here, he offers immersive courses that guide participants in crafting three-course meals, along with specialized classes in fermentation, plant-based cuisine, pasta-making, and seafood preparation.
