The leader of the federal opposition addressed listeners on 2GB before presenting a speech in Sydney that outlined a forthcoming migration policy overhaul.

“This initiative is specifically crafted to assist Australians in acquiring homes. It’s aimed at young Australian citizens,” Taylor remarked regarding the deposit scheme.

“I’ll offer you a brief glimpse of my upcoming speech scheduled for 11 o’clock today. During that address, I intend to state that we plan to limit this program exclusively to Australian citizens.”

The 5 percent home deposit scheme was introduced by the Albanese administration last year to support young, first-time homebuyers in securing their inaugural property.

This initiative permits all first-time homebuyers in Australia to purchase a property with a mere 5 percent deposit, as opposed to the standard 20 percent.

Taylor criticized the government for making the scheme accessible to permanent residents, suggesting it was a mistake.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation has been pushing for the 5 per cent home deposit scheme to be restricted to Australian citizens.

Other elements of Coalition’s immigration policy include social media screenings on all migrant applications.

Migrants who breach Australian values would be deported under the plan.
