LOS ANGELES — The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled its class of 2026, showcasing a diverse blend of heavy metal, Britpop, and hip-hop from its golden era. The roster of 18 inductees was announced during a special broadcast of “American Idol.”

This year’s roster of performers includes notable names such as Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Sade, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, Luther Vandross, and Joy Division/New Order.

“Being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame represents the pinnacle of musical achievement,” stated John Sykes, chairman of the Hall of Fame. “We are eager to honor these extraordinary artists at this year’s ceremony — it promises to be a night to remember.”

Phil Collins returns to the Hall for a second time, following his 2010 induction with Genesis. The news is particularly exciting for fans of Oasis and Iron Maiden, who have long awaited this recognition after numerous nominations.

Beyond the main performer category, several Special Merit awards were also announced. Queen Latifah, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons are set to receive the Early Influence Award.

The Musical Excellence Award will honor producers and songwriters Rick Rubin, Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, and Jimmy Miller. Additionally, Ed Sullivan will be recognized with the Ahmet Ertegun Award for his significant contribution to popularizing rock and roll in the United States.

The 41st annual induction ceremony will take place Nov. 14 in Los Angeles. The event will stream on Disney+ and air on ABC later this year.
