Long Island teen dead, 2 injured, in gang-related shooting in Eisenhower Park

A tragic incident unfolded at a well-frequented Long Island park on Wednesday night, resulting in the death of a teenager and injuries to two others after shots were fired during a barbecue. Authorities have detained two individuals in connection with the incident, as reported by various sources.

The violence erupted at approximately 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Avenue in Eisenhower Park, according to Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, as reported by CBS New York.

The shooting, which authorities have linked to gang activity, claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy. He, along with two others who sustained injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the young teen was later declared deceased, according to the news outlet.
