In a troubling surge of youth violence coinciding with the arrival of summer-like weather, a teenager was stabbed in the leg during an altercation in Queens on Thursday afternoon.

Police officers discovered the 13-year-old boy with a serious leg wound, bleeding profusely, at the intersection of 89th Avenue and 153rd Street, near Rufus King Park in Jamaica. This incident was reported shortly after 4 p.m., according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Authorities believe that a disagreement escalated into the stabbing, as noted by police officials.

The injured teen, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.

Photographs from the scene depicted officers gathering evidence from a taped-off section of the sidewalk, where they recovered a large knife.

Additional items, including what appeared to be a broken wooden log and a metal rod, were also collected and marked as evidence, as seen in the images.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.

The incident came just hours before 15-year-old Jaden Pierre was gunned down near Nautilus Playground in Roy Wilkins Park in St. Albans.

Another 15-year-old boy was killed and two others were critically wounded in a shooting inside a picturesque Long Island park Wednesday night after a cook-out involving alleged gangbangers descended into voilence.
