In March, a probe was initiated after officers from the Australian Border Force in New South Wales intercepted a .22-caliber folding single-shot pistol hidden in an air cargo shipment originating from Asia.
The Australian Federal Police have reportedly connected a 54-year-old man from Telopea to this firearm.
Yesterday, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence located in Sydney’s north-west.
During the search, officers confiscated 39 weapons and several firearm components, all purportedly owned by the 54-year-old individual.
The cache of weapons included 31 firearms resembling gel blasters or air rifles, as well as a silencer, crossbows, Tasers, and prohibited knives.
Authorities also allegedly discovered various drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and three liters of 1,4-butanediol.
The 54-year-old was charged with multiple weapon and drug offences and could face a hefty sentence if convicted.
