A tragic incident unfolded in Lake Macquarie as a 25-year-old man stands accused of fatally stabbing his 47-year-old mother.
Authorities are delving into the possible motives behind the attack, noting that Blaise Mcintyre, the individual in question, had no prior record of violent behavior.
The alleged incident took place at approximately 8 p.m. yesterday at their residence in Windale, where Blaise reportedly inflicted multiple stab wounds on his mother, Rebecca.
Despite the paramedics’ efforts to save her life, Rebecca could not be resuscitated.
According to Superintendent Tracy Chapman from the NSW Police, a knife was retrieved from the scene as part of the investigation.
Following the incident, Blaise was transported to the hospital under police supervision and has since been charged with domestic violence murder.
Immediately after the attack police allege it was actually Blaise Mcintyre who made the triple zero call for help.
They say he wasn’t known to them prior to this incident and had never been called to police for alleged domestic violence.
Rebecca McIntyre’s friends described her to 9News as a beautiful woman who was always so warm and loving.
“She always had a smile” one neighbour said.
