Over the weekend, District 86 Superintendent Dr. Michal Lach informed families via a letter about the allegations concerning Buetikofer, who had served as an assistant boys lacrosse coach. These accusations date back to his tenure as a teacher in a different Illinois school district and first came to light on March 18.
In response to the situation, Lach emphasized that District 86 immediately took measures to ensure student safety and severed all ties with Buetikofer on March 19, leading to his formal dismissal by March 26.
While there is no indication that any students from District 86 are involved, the district is fully cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation.
