Spencer Pratt accuses Karen Bass’s crew of getting MAGA merch at White House

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently returned from Washington, D.C., with more than just a photograph beside President Donald Trump. Her team also brought back some “Make America Great Again” merchandise, sparking intrigue and speculation.

Spencer Pratt, an independent candidate for mayor, shared images on Wednesday showing Mayor Bass alongside LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and their group on a Washington, D.C., street corner.

In these images, members of the mayor’s group are seen carrying red and white bags, noticeably featuring Trump’s well-known branding.

Pratt accused Bass’s team of carrying MAGA-branded items, which he suggested are typically unpopular among liberal circles.

“Check out the MAGA merchandise! Karen Bass has aligned with Trump in a desperate bid ahead of the election,” Pratt commented.

The mayor’s office chose not to respond to inquiries about the photos when contacted by The California Post.

Bass and Barger were both in D.C. this week to meet with Trump over relief from the devastating Los Angeles wildfires last year. They came away claiming they have his backing to crack down on tight-fisted insurers.

“We had a very positive discussion about FEMA and other rebuilding funds as well as the support of the President to continue joining us in pressuring the insurance companies to pay what they owe – and for the big banks to step up to ease the financial pressure on L.A. families,” they said in a joint statement.

Behind the scenes, the talks reportedly centered on unlocking more federal disaster dollars through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, while also tackling the broader financial squeeze hammering fire-ravaged families.

City and county leaders have leaned heavily on Washington to speed things up, arguing that without serious federal muscle, recovery could drag on for years.

Pratt, who has registered as a Republican in the past, insinuated the merch was an attempt to appeal to Trump as the mayor spoke with the president. Bass is defending her seat against Pratt in this year’s election.

Some commenters questioned Pratt’s attack, saying it could insult Trump supporters who are fans of “Make America Great Again.”

“MAGA supports you in California, but if you go down this road you’re going to lose a lot of support,” one commenter said.

Bass’s East Coast tour continued with a high-dollar fundraiser in New York attended by controversial ex-mayor Bill De Blasio.

The fundraiser, marketed as an exclusive reception, offered top-tier access priced at $1,800 for a one-on-one, while the cheapest cost $250.

Attendees at the Upper West Side reception held at Serafina told The California Post they “went home hungry” despite shelling out four-figure sums for access to the Los Angeles mayor.

Bass, 71, is trying to raise money for her campaign boosting her re-election campaign more than 2,700 miles from home.
