Authorities are currently probing a series of drive-by shootings, with the fortunate outcome that no one was injured in the incidents.
Police have reported that an unidentified vehicle was spotted near each targeted residence just before multiple gunshots were fired.
The first shooting occurred on Clarence Street in Merrylands at 10:45 PM, followed shortly by another on Lockwood Street nearby.
The third attack took place at 11:00 PM on Monash Street in Wentworthville.
Superintendent Commander Simon Glasser of the NSW Police noted that all three locations have connections to organized crime, a factor which is being explored as a motive behind these targeted attacks.
“That is a line of enquiry for us, believing these offences have been targeted,” Glasser said.
Glasser said the two Merrylands properties were unoccupied at the time, while three people were inside the Wentworthville home.
Police want to speak to the driver of a white Hyundai sedan seen driving away from the Wentworthville home around the time.
“We believe at least two, possibly three, people involved were in that vehicle at the time,” Glasser said.
