Nadia Sawalha’s husband, Mark Adderley, has been temporarily removed from his position in the Green Party following accusations of making antisemitic statements. Adderley, who compared Israel to Nazi Germany and suggested that Mossad orchestrated attacks on Jews, is now under scrutiny.

Adderley, a Green Party candidate for Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood in the upcoming Croydon elections, frequently shares his political opinions on his YouTube channel, often alongside his wife. His controversial remarks about Israel and its government have drawn considerable attention.

In some of his videos, Adderley alleged that Israel was involved in ‘false flag’ operations, including the assassination of U.S. political figure Charlie Kirk and a missile strike on a British base in Cyprus.

Concerns voiced by antisemitism advocacy groups and political figures, such as Communities Minister Steve Reed, prompted the Green Party to suspend Adderley on Friday evening.

Reacting to the suspension, Adderley expressed his outrage on social media, stating that he felt ‘truly, deeply, viscerally disgusted’ by the party’s decision.

He further defended his record, asserting that he has dedicated his ‘entire life to fighting racism in all its forms.’

He said: ‘I have stood shoulder to shoulder with Jewish friends, comrades and communities against genuine hatred.’

Sawalha called her husband’s suspension ‘an utter disgrace’.

However Reed welcomed the move and ‘congratulated’ Green leader Zack Polanski on ‘this first step in ridding his party of antisemitism’.

Adderley’s suspension comes after a raft of videos were posted to his social media in recent months that prompted accusations against him of antisemitism.

In one video posted in March, Adderley said: ‘There’s a word which is Lebensraum, which is ‘living room’, and that’s exactly what [Adolf] Hitler wanted in all the countries around him.

‘The weirdest thing about the maps of history, when you look at how Hitler expanded Germany, or sought to expand Germany, it’s almost a complete identikit to what [Israeli prime minister, Binyamin] Netanyahu, is doing in the Middle East.’

He added: ‘Israel is the biggest threat to the sovereignty of every nation on this planet because they are ‘the chosen people’. Deluded. It’s a cult, it’s just a cult.’

In the same video, seen by The Times and which has since been deleted, he speculated on the killing of Kirk.

‘I am telling you now, Charlie Kirk was not shot by this guy [the suspect Tyler Robinson]. He was taken out. It’s the deep state, [Israel’s] Mossad intelligence, CIA,’ he said. ‘It’s the same f****** thing — CIA, Mossad, everything is hermetically sealed.’

Two days after the Bondi Beach attack in December, in which 15 people attending a Chanukah celebration in Sydney, Australia, were shot dead, Adderley uploaded a video blaming Netanyahu – the ‘only person who has made the lives of Jewish people infinitely more dangerous’.

Adderley added as a caption: ‘Once again the Grim Reaper of Israel BLAMES everyone else for the awful violence on Bondi Beach but never ever entertains the thought that HE is single handedly [sic] responsible for endangering the lives of Jewish people and Muslims throughout the World.’

In another video, made in March after a kamikaze drone – believed to have been fired by Hezbollah militants in Lebanon – struck a British base in Cyprus, Adderley questioned whether it was an ‘Israeli false flag?’

He said: ‘The Western Zionist-supporting, Israeli-complicit media and governments are all going to say, “Well, it must have come from Hezbollah,” he added.

Adderley also unleashed on home secretary Shabana Mahmood, calling her a ‘puppet of the Zionist state’ after she announced the Government would appeal a ruling that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful.

He said: ‘You’re an absolutely f****** shameful politician,’ Adderley said. ‘You could seek to soften your right-wing, fascistic-sympathising, Zionist-f****** cosying up.’

Adderley maintained he should not have been suspended and blamed Labour for trying to ‘recreate the Corbyn antisemitism psychodrama’ of recent years.

He wrote on his social media: ‘I genuinely thought The Green Party was supposed to be different, and was promising a beacon of hope in the dark, ugly world of British Party Politics.

‘Instead, they have fallen at what feels like the first hurdle in Labour’s attempts to recreate the Corbyn antisemitism psychodrama of some years ago.

‘If we are to change politics for the good, we must do things differently. We must be unafraid to say what establishment politics has disallowed: that Zionism is racism, that opposing a fascistic, apartheid state is not racism, it is not antisemitic, it is not conflating all Jewish People with the Netanyahu Regime — and that standing with the oppressed should NEVER be something to suspend someone for.’

The Green Party previously said the videos do not represent the views of the party.

Daily Mail has received confirmation from the Green Party that Adderley has been suspended.
