Graham Platner: Dems Need to Shut the Trump Administration Down

On Thursday’s edition of MS NOW’s “The Briefing,” Democratic Senate hopeful Graham Platner expressed a firm stance on the course of action he believes his party should take if they secure control of the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections. Platner emphasized the necessity of stifling the Trump administration’s efforts.

Platner remarked, “It’s widely acknowledged that Donald Trump is extraordinarily detrimental. He embodies the most troubling aspects of our political landscape and society.”

During the conversation, host Jen Psaki posed a thought-provoking question: “If you’re elected to the Senate and the Democrats gain majority control, how do you envision utilizing that power? What should people know about your approach?”

Platner responded decisively, stating, “If we find ourselves in the majority, it’s imperative that we leverage our power to effectively neutralize this administration. A strategic approach would involve rigorous committee hearings and thorough investigations. My objective is to render the Trump administration non-operational by consistently summoning White House officials before Senate committees. This isn’t just about uncovering potential misconduct, of which there is plenty. It’s also about using subpoena power as a tool to prevent damaging actions, such as unnecessary military conflicts or further economic policies that disproportionately favor billionaires. We must exercise our authority to keep these issues in check.”
