NEW YORK â For most theatergoers, attending a performance of âAladdinâ on Broadway might seem like just another enchanting evening. However, for teenagers Jillian Heath and Adonis Reed, this particular show marked a life-changing moment. Thanks to the efforts of Make-A-Wish and Disney, the magic of Broadway became a reality as these teens made their debut on the legendary stage.
Jillian, at just 14 years old, expressed her enthusiasm for this unforgettable experience. âI chose this wish because Broadway is such a renowned stage, and I thought it would be amazing to be on Broadway,â she shared, reflecting the excitement that filled the air.
The journey to the spotlight was nothing short of magical from the very start. Adonis, aged 16, fondly recalled a pivotal moment when the actor playing Aladdin reached out to him personally. âI knew my wish was granted when I saw the actor in character, and he told me, âyour wish is granted!'â Adonis recounted, his excitement evident.
In the lead-up to their debut, the two young performers were showered with delightful surprises. They met with Broadwayâs current Genie, received their own commemorative lamps, and experienced the thrill of professional costume fittings. Rehearsals with the entire showâs team further heightened their anticipation for the big night.
Jillian described the experience with delight, âThis has been just so great. Meeting some of the cast was a highlight, and seeing the backstage area was really cool. Wearing a professionally-made Broadway costume felt incredible,â she enthused, capturing the essence of a dream realized.
