Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York and a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, is currently hospitalized in Florida and battling for his life.
The 81-year-old is in critical but stable condition, according to his spokesperson, Ted Goodman.
“Mayor Giuliani has consistently shown immense resilience in the face of challenges, and he is currently fighting with that same determination,” Goodman stated on Sunday night (Monday morning AEST).
Giuliani has been a key figure on Trump’s legal team, working on investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election and scrutinizing Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
His efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, however, were unsuccessful, resulting in criminal charges in two states and a defamation lawsuit filed by election workers.
Additionally, Giuliani has faced professional setbacks, including being disbarred in New York, an unsuccessful bankruptcy filing, and the cancellation of his radio talk show.
Trump, in September last year and just two days after Giuliani was injured in a car crash, announced he would award the former mayor the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
