Exciting news for Google Home enthusiasts! The latest update introduces Gemini 3.1, a significant upgrade that empowers the smart home assistant to handle more sophisticated, multi-step commands. With this enhancement, users can now issue composite commands, asking Gemini to execute several tasks in one go. Additionally, the update enhances the assistant’s capability to manage recurring tasks and all-day events, as well as offering greater flexibility in rescheduling upcoming events.
Beyond the Gemini enhancements, Google has rolled out several other updates aimed at enriching user experience. Noteworthy improvements include better camera functionalities, innovative automation features, and two public preview offerings. The first preview, Ask Home on Web, allows users to operate their smart home directly from a computer. This includes searching through camera history using natural language, checking on smart devices, and setting up automations. Moreover, Google is testing a second preview that introduces expanded notifications, which feature “quick action” buttons for immediate device control directly from the notification.
