Florida 12-year-old accused of threatening teacher, saying she will 'shoot up' school

A 12-year-old girl from Florida is now facing serious charges after authorities allege she used another student’s account to send an alarming message threatening to “shoot up” her elementary school.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office has charged the girl with two felonies: making written or electronic threats to kill and the illegal use of a two-way communication device.

Investigators were alerted over the weekend when a teacher at Louise S. McInnis Elementary School received the menacing threat in writing.

The message not only targeted the teacher but also warned of plans to “shoot up” the school on the final day of classes, the sheriff’s office reported.

Though the threatening message was dispatched from the account of a 12-year-old boy, detectives discovered it was actually sent by his former girlfriend, who had access to his login credentials.

The sheriff’s office shared a video of the girl’s arrest on Facebook, which quickly went viral, amassing over a million views.

In the video, deputies could be seen leading the handcuffed, green-haired tween with a septum piercing from a patrol car to the jail.

She was then shackled and escorted into a jail cell, where she was left sitting on a bench.

The elementary school did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
