Miami woman allegedly lured man to luxury condo via Instagram, then robbed him with 2 accomplices

A Florida woman has been taken into custody after allegedly luring a man via social media to her Miami apartment, only to rob him, authorities report.

Nicole Cano, a 30-year-old resident, is facing charges of false imprisonment and strong-arm robbery. This follows an incident on April 11, where she supposedly invited the victim to her upscale Biscayne Bay condominium around 8 p.m., as detailed in an arrest affidavit referenced by Local 10.

The invitation was made through Instagram under the pretense of having drinks together, but events quickly escalated.

According to Miami-Dade jail records, Cano was apprehended on Monday, with charges for both false imprisonment and strong-arm robbery. This information was confirmed by Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation.

While the victim was on the balcony, two additional women appeared from a bedroom and joined Cano in confronting him, the police report states.

The group demanded cash from the man; however, he informed them that he did not have any money, according to the account.

When he tried to leave, a struggle broke out and the women told him he was “going to pay,” authorities said.

The alleged robbery happened April 11, when the victim said he was contacted by Nicole Cano, who he had previously met on Instagram. (Google Maps)

During the scuffle, the victim’s gold chain was yanked from his neck. He managed to keep the chain, but a $300 gold cross pendant was taken before he broke free, fled the apartment and screamed for help, the affidavit states.

He later called police.

On May 1, the victim identified Cano in a six-photo lineup, according to the charging document.

Cano was arrested and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

She pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was assigned a public defender, court records show.
